"China" was a hit single for Red Rockers in 1983, from the Columbia/415 album Good As Gold. 1 It peaked at #53 on the Billboard Hot 100. 2 The song's music video, which was popular on MTV during its run, was shot in New Orleans (the band's hometown) doubling as a Shanghai-esque Chinese city. 3

"China" was included on Rhino Records' new wave compilation album series, Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Hits of the 80's. 4 In 2000, the band Cowboy Mouth (of which Red Rockers singer/guitarist John Thomas Griffith is now a member) covered the song for their studio album Easy.
